The race winner, Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya, finished in 2:03:02, setting a record by shaving 57 seconds off the times of previous winners. For more information on the marathon, see The Boston Athletic Association.
During his Boston trip, Alan stayed at the Langham Boston Hotel, part of Langham Hotels International. No known relation. When checking in, the desk clerk remarked, “That is a fine name you have, Sir!”
